These are Equip-Bid's current platform fees. They apply across the marketplace, are shown on every item and at checkout before you bid, and appear on your invoice. Sellers may add their own auction-specific fees, such as removal or handling, which are shown on the item and set out in that auction's terms.
Bidder fees
When you win an item, your total is the hammer price plus the following:
| Fee | Amount | How it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Buyer's premium | 18% | Of the hammer price, on every item you win. |
| Item fee | $1.50 | Flat, charged once for each item you win. |
| Special fee | Set by seller | Optional charge set by the seller. Can apply to a single item, such as removal or handling, or to your whole invoice, such as shipping. Shown on the item or on your invoice. |
| Sales tax | Per jurisdiction | Calculated by Avalara for the auction's location, unless you have a valid exemption on file. Tax is not a fee. |
Your sale price for an item is the hammer price plus the buyer's premium. The full total, including the item fee, any special fees, and tax, is shown before you place a bid.
Seller fees
Sellers are paid through Stripe Connect. Equip-Bid collects the buyer's payment, deducts the buyer's premium and applicable platform fees, and transfers the seller's settlement to their connected Stripe account, which pays out by ACH. A seller's platform fee depends on their account and is set out in their seller agreement.
Payment and the card limit
Cards on file are charged automatically after an auction closes, up to a credit-card limit of $2,000 per invoice. Invoices above that limit cannot be paid by credit card and must be paid another way, such as a wire transfer, cash, or a cashier's check. The current limit is shown at checkout. Whether onsite payment such as cash is available is set by the seller for each auction.
Changes to these fees
We may update this schedule from time to time. A change takes effect when it is posted here and applies only to bids placed after that time. It never changes the amount owed on a bid you have already placed. The amounts that apply to any purchase are always the ones shown on the item and at checkout when you bid.
